Windows 10 version 1909 and version 1903 received new cumulative updates to address a slew of issues. In addition, the company made available build 18363.418 to bring every device in the Release Preview ring to the latest build of the November 2019 Update. Microsoft also updated the hardware requirements to install the Windows 10 May 2019 Update and higher versions to support new Qualcomm, AMD Ryzen, and Intel 10th Generation processors....

Windows 10 build 18922 was released as part of the 20H1 development with new language features as well as some hidden features, including a new version of Cortana and a new option to rename virtual desktops. In addition, Windows 10 20H1 also includes some new changes in the Start menu and Action Center. The new Chromium version of Microsoft Edge is now available, as a preview, for devices running Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8....

Microsoft rolls out a new preview of the Windows 10 Redstone 5 update (build 17741), and while it doesn’t introduce new features, it’s the preview that officially shows Windows 10 as “version 1809.” The company also released Windows 10 build 17738 days earlier, but the preview didn’t include any interesting changes, just bug fixes. Also, the software giant made available Windows 10 build 18219 as part of the 19H1 developments with minor improvements....

The software giant notes that the feature won’t be fully operational until future releases, but Microsoft explains that Game Mode is meant to optimize Windows 10 on your computer to increase gaming performance. The new mode should help to improve performance on both modern Windows Store games and traditional desktop games. The company didn’t share many details, but said that soon we will hear more details on how the feature works....

It’s also already known that Redstone will ship in two waves, but up until now every piece of information indicated that both updates would roll out to the public in 2016. Windows 10 version 1606 — Redstone (RS1) Now WinBeta reports that Microsoft has changed the release schedule. According to The Verge, sources familiar to the development, the software giant is currently testing with “Cortana floating around Windows 10.” As currently rumored, the new version of Cortana for the desktop version of Windows 10 will include the ability to float around the operating system user interface. Perhaps, similar to the Clippy character, Microsoft’s digital assistant will appear on top of documents, contextually, and providing information and other sort of assistance when needed in a non-intrusive way....

The biggest challenge for Microsoft is that the new operating system has to be (absolutely) great for consumers and businesses alike, as they both are different customer bases. On one side, we have the consumer market that has become accustom to fast changes and it is moving toward smaller screens (mobile). And on the other side, we have the enterprises that only want to run business applications with a familiar user interface to prevent higher cost on deployment and learning curve....

However, this release is not meant for regular consumers. According to the company, a computer is a commercial device when it is not running Windows 10 Home, or it’s managed through Microsoft Endpoint Manager or a third-party MDM tool. Or if the computer has a volume license key, CommercialID, or is joined to an Active Directory domain. As the software giant has previously noted, the first semi-annual update of Windows 10 will be considered a small update with minor changes and several fixes....

OneGet has been part of Windows 8.1, but as an optional feature through the installation of the Windows Management Framework 5.0 Preview. In Windows 10, OneGet will ship as part of PowerShell by default on every installation and developers and users alike will be able to take advantage of the new feature. What is OneGet? In short, OneGet is a new way in Windows to find and install new software from trusted sources (or repositories) around the web....
